Aviation Taster Programme Introduced for Students Interested in Pilot Training
A five-day aviation taster programme titled “To Be a Pilot – Taster Programme for Aviation Study” will be offered in July to provide students with an introduction to aviation studies and pilot training pathways. The programme is organised in collaboration with Aerosim (HK) Limited and is intended to give participants an overview of the aviation industry, pilot career development, and the academic preparation commonly required for cadet pilot programmes. The course combines lectures, discussions, and practical simulator sessions. Participants will be introduced to basic aviation topics including aerodynamics, flight planning, navigation, and aviation procedures. The programme also includes an overview of the pilot selection process, covering aptitude tests, interviews, and medical requirements typically associated with airline cadet training. Practical sessions will allow students to explore aircraft controls and instruments through flight simulation exercises. The course will also introduce participants to the use of electronic flight bag technology, including ForeFlight, for basic flight planning and navigation activities. The programme is structured across five days. Initial sessions focus on the aviation industry and pilot career pathways, followed by academic preparation for aptitude assessments. Later sessions introduce the principles of flight, simulator practice, and basic operational procedures. The final day includes a navigation and flight planning activity where participants will design and test a short flight route using simulation tools. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate summarising their participation in the programme. Programme Information Programme Code: PRCK-40683-2026-1-F Commencement Date: 27 July 2026
