The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) plays a key role in supporting Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ecosystem. Established in 2001, the Science Park hosts more than 1,700 companies from over 27 countries and regions, providing infrastructure and support for startups and technology enterprises. Among them is Aerosim (HK) Limited, founded in 2017 and led by Managing Director Mattis Tsang. The company develops flight simulation technologies and training solutions aimed at improving aviation education and pilot preparation. Talking about the support that tech companies & startups get at HKSTP, Dr H.L. Yiu, Chief Corporate Development officer, said, “In the journey of developing new industries and technologies, startups often face hurdles transitioning from conceptual ideas to tangible products. While securing initial proof of concept and investment is crucial, the real challenge lies in ensuring manufacturability—addressing reliability, quality, and cost.”
“Many startups falter at this stage due to the lack of support for transitioning to production. To bridge this gap, HKSTP offers comprehensive support programs and facilities, from laboratory resources for proof of concept to pilot production facilities. Our extensive investment and membership networks further bolster startups, ensuring they have the resources and expertise needed to thrive in Hong Kong’s burgeoning tech landscape,” he added.

Spotlight on HKSTP’s Innovative Ventures: Aerosim, GoGoChart, and AI Guided
Aerosim (HK) Ltd., led by Managing Director Mattis Tsang, epitomizes innovation in aviation education. Established in 2017 and based at the HKSTP, Aerosim specializes in developing advanced flight simulators and autonomous learning solutions. With a mission to make air travel safer, Aerosim’s technology reduces physical training hours by 30 to 50 percent, lowering costs and barriers to entry into the aviation sector. Tsang’s passion for aviation, coupled with his experiences as a pilot and educator, drives Aerosim’s global ambitions.
Through strategic partnerships and innovative design, Aerosim is not only shaping the future of aviation training but also expanding opportunities for STEM education in schools. In 2019, Aerosim unveiled its first simulator, offering users a lifelike experience of flight operations.
